SOP on Equipment Maintenance

1.0 Purpose: The purpose of this document is to laid down a procedure for the maintenance of an equipment.

2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to operating staff.

3.0 Responsibility: Production Chemist to ensure that the procedure is followed.

4.0 Materials and Equipment: As required.

5.0 Procedure: The equipment are designed, constructed, located and maintained to assure the quality in each drug manufactured and repeated on a batch to batch basis.

The maintenance of equipment is carried out in orderly manner by keeping equipment log which includes –  

01. Manufacture, model, serial no.

02. Code no.

03. Purchased from & date.

04. Size and output quantity.

05. Location in plant.

06. Maintenance responsibility and schedule.

07. Modifications made after purchase.

08. Maintenance and cleaning instructions.
