on Cleaning of Dispensing Tools
Objective : To describe cleaning procedure for
Dispensing Tools
Scope
:
To ensure that the equipment is clean and free from any starting materials of
previous batch or product residues.
Responsibility : 1.It is the responsibility of store
assistant to clean the equipment.
2. Store Incharge to ensure that
procedure is followed.
Materials
& Equipment :
1.
Cleaning agent: Teepol or liquid soap.
2.
Nylon brush / lint free cloth
3.
Plastic / SS

Procedure
(1)
For dispensing of every drug substance use clean
dispensing tools (i.e. Scoop, Spatula, Spoon etc.).
(2)
After completing the dispensing operations, keep all
used dispensing tools in a plastic tub and carry them to equipment washing area
for cleaning.
(3)
Remove any visible material from the surfaces of
dispensing tools with the help of tap water and drain the washings.(Note: To
remove any sticky substance, dispensing tools should be first rinsed with hot water & use nylon
brush if required to remove sticky material).
(4)
Prepare Teepol solution (10ml à 10 liters water)
or liquid-soap solution (50gm à 5 liters water) and clean the surfaces of dispensing tools with the
help of moist cloth.
(5)
Wash the dispensing tools under running tap water
and drain the washings.
(6)
Rinse the dispensing equipment with purified water
and drain the washings.(Note: Visibly check for presence of any sticky residual
material on all clean dispensing equipment. If found any residual material is
found, repeat the steps nos. 3 to 5).
(7)
Allow clean equipment to dry in air or dry with a
clean lint free cloth.
(8)
Wrap all the clean dispensing equipment in polythene
bags and keep in the area earmarked for clean dispensing equipment in approved
raw material store.
