on Cleaning of Double Cone Mixer
Objective: To describe cleaning procedure for double cone mixer.
Scope: To ensure that
the equipment is clean and free from any starting materials of previous batch
or product residues.
Responsibility: 1.It is the responsibility of operating staff to clean the equipment.
2. Production Chemist to ensure that
procedure is followed.
Materials
& Equipment:
1.
Cleaning agent: Teepol or Liquid Soap.
2.
Mops / nylon brush / lint free cloth
3.
SS Jug
Procedure
1.
Fill the double cone mixer with 10 liters of hot tap
water and run the mixer for 10 minutes.
2.
Remove any visible material from surfaces of double
cone mixer with the help of brush.
3.
Drain out the water by tilting the mixer.
4.
Prepare a Teepol solution (10ml à 10 liters water)
or liquid-soap (50gm à 5 liters water) and clean the surfaces with clean cloth & brush.
5.
Wash the inner surfaces of the double cone mixer by
tap water for 5 minutes, drain the washings. Repeat the procedure for another 5
minutes & again drain the washings.
6.
Wash the inner surfaces of the double cone mixer by
using 10 liters of purified water for 10 minutes and drain the washings.
7.
Finally rinse the double cone mixer with previously
heated purified water and drain it completely. Pour 5 liters of purified water
in double cone mixer and run for 5 minutes.
8.
Send the wash water for analysis of residual active
materials of previous product.
9.
Let it air dry and cover the equipment and put a
label “Cleaned” or “Ready for use”.
