SOP on Cleaning
of Rapid Mixer Granulator
Objective : To describe cleaning procedure for rapid mixer granulator.
Scope
:
To ensure that the equipment is clean and free from any starting materials of
previous batch or product residues.
Responsibility: 1.It is the responsibility of operating staff to clean the equipment.
2. Production Chemist to ensure that
procedure is followed.
Materials
& Equipment:
1.
Cleaning agent: Teepol or Liquid Soap.
2.
Mops / nylon brush / lint free cloth
3.
SS Jug
Procedure
1.
Fill the rapid mixer granulator with 30 liters of
hot tap water and run the rapid mixer granulator for 10 minutes.
2.
Remove any visible material from surfaces of rapid
mixer granulator and blades with the help of brush.
3.
Drain out the water by opening the slit and with the
help of a SS jug.
4.
Prepare a Teepol solution (10ml à 10 liters water)
or liquid-soap (50gm à 5 liters water) and clean the surfaces, and blades with clean cloth
& brush.
5.
Wash the inner surfaces of the rapid mixer
granulator by running tap water for 5 minutes, drain the washings. Repeat the
procedure for another 5 minutes & again drain the washings.
6.
Wash the inner surfaces of the rapid mixer
granulator by using 30 liters of purified water for 10 minutes and drain the
washings.
7.
Finally rinse the rapid mixer granulator with
previously heated purified water and drain it completely. Pour 5 liters of
purified water in rapid mixer granulator and run for 5 minutes.
8.
Send the wash water for analysis of residual active
materials of previous product.
9.
Let it air dry and cover the equipment and put a
label “Cleaned” or “Ready for use”.
