SOP on Cleaning of Powder Pouch Filling Machine
1. Objective: To describe cleaning procedure for Powder / Pouch Filling machine.
2. Scope: To ensure that the Powder / Pouch Filling machine is clean and free from any starting materials of previous batch or product residues.
3. Responsibility:
3.1 It is the responsibility of operating staff to clean the equipment.
3.2 Production Chemist to ensure that procedure is followed.
4. Materials & Equipment :
4.1 Cleaning agent: Teepol or Liquid Soap
4.2 Vacuum Cleaner / Mops / brush / lint free cloth
4.3 Plastic / SS tub
5. Procedure
5.1 Switch Off the mains of machine.
5.2 Remove the visible material from the machine with the help of a vacuum cleaner
5.3 Dismantle the hopper, feeding chute etc. and clean with a dry lint free cloth. Wash hopper & feeding chute with tap water.
5.4 Prepare a Teepol solution (10ml à 10 liters water) or liquid-soap (50gm à 5 liters water) and clean the surfaces of hopper and feeding chute by mopping.
5.5 Wash hopper and feeding chute by running tap water for 5minutes and drain the washings. Repeat the procedure for another 5 minutes and again drain the washings.
5.6 Finally rinse in-process containers with purified water and drain it completely.
5.7 Send the wash water for analysis for residual active ingredients of previous product.
5.8 Remove the left over powder from heaters and cutter with the help of a brush.
5.9 Clean the entire machine with a dry lint free cloth.
5.10 Reassemble all dismantled parts on the machine and put a label “Clean” or “Ready for Use”.
