SOP on Operation of Fluid Bed Dryer
1.0 Purpose: This document describes the procedure for operation of Fluid Bed Dryer.
2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to operating staff.
3.0 Responsibility: Production chemist to ensure that procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment:
As required.
5.0 Procedure:
5.01 Fill the product into product container mounted on the trolley.
5.02 Wheel in the product container with trolley into dryer.
5.03 Press product container to housing by means of eccentric lever.
5.04 Set the required drying temperature on the thermostat.
5.05 Set the required drying time.
5.06 Ensure that the retarding chamber and product container are earthed with spring loaded earthing copper roller provided on the main body.
5.07 Close outlet air flap.
5.08 Press the start (green) button.
5.09 Open slowly air flap by means of the lever until material is fluidized. Keep air lever in this position. This process can be observed through the observation window. If product mass is sluggish or does not move when air lever flap is opened, then the lever must be moved back and forth several times until materials slides along walls of container.
5.10 Switch on the heaters and open thermic oil inlet valve.
5.11After completing the drying process shake outlet air filter.
5.12 Lower the product container.
5.13 Release eccentric lever and remove product container along with trolley.
5.14 Empty the product in IPC containers.
