SOP on Personal Health
1.0 Purpose: This SOP describes the basic requirements for the health of personnel working in Production Area and Quality Control Laboratory.
2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to the all the Production Staff and Quality Control staff working in the company.
3.0 Responsibility: Production Supervisor to ensure that procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment: As required.
5.0 Procedure:
5.1 Health of persons is checked at the time of recruitment and periodically thereafter.
5.2 All personnel working in the production area are checked for free from contagious and / or infectious diseases and weak eyesight etc.
5.3 Personnel working in the manufacturing area are checked for not to have any disease or condition (e.g. cough, cold, infected skin, open wounds etc.) that could compromise with the quality of the product microbiologically or otherwise.
5.4 Personnel working in the -lactam section are identified and they are examined for penicillin sensitivity.
5.5 When production staff report for work after an absence due to illness involving a communicable disease, they are not allowed to work in the manufacturing area till their health has been assessed by a qualified medical Doctor.
Training: A training program is conducted for the maintenance of health and periodic assessment of these parameters is done as to their effectiveness.
6.0 Reporting: The medical record sheet is filled and signed by a Qualified Medical Doctor.
