SOP on Temporary Stopping and Restarting of Blister Packing Machine
1.0 Purpose: This SOP describes the procedure for temporary stopping and restarting of blister packing machine.
2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to operating staff of the production department.
3.0 Responsibility:  It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to ensure that the procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment: None 
5.0 Procedure:
5.01 If the Machine is stopped for any reason, or whenever the packing material roll is changed, the following sequence of operations should be followed:- 
5.02 The vibrator should first be stopped.
5.03 The release lever of machine should be turned to stop the product from being released.
5.04 Any product and strips, which would have come in contact with the hot rollers, should be removed and discarded.
5.05 The rollers should be stopped by means of switch. 
5.06 When the printed aluminum foil roll is being changed, the roll should be checked for correctness of name, strength of product & size.
5.07 When the machine is stopped for longer duration, it must be ensured that no product is retained in feed channels. After the machine is re-stared, a few blank strips should be run initially to ensure that overprinting details are clear. The blank strips should be removed from the line and only then packing should recommence.
