SOP on Shift End Cleaning of Semiautomatic Powder / Granules Filling Machine
1.0 Purpose: This SOP describes the procedure for cleaning of semiautomatic powder filling machine.
2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to operating staff of the production department.
3.0 Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to ensure that the procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment:
4.01 Nylon brush
4.02 Teepol solution (10ml 1liter water) or Liquid Soap solution (10g 1 liter water).
4.03 Isopropyl Alcohol (70%)
5.0 Procedure:
5.01 Switch off the mains.
5.02 Dismantle the nozzle, hopper and shaft of the powder / granules filling machine.
5.03 Remove all the visible residual powder / granules adhering to the surface of dismantled parts with the help of a nylon brush.
5.04 Wash the surfaces of the dismantled parts with the help of hot water.
5.05 Wash the surfaces of the dismantled parts with the help of teepol solution or liquid soap solution.
5.06 Wash the surfaces of the dismantled parts with water to remove all traces of teepol or liquid soap.
5.07 Finally rinse the dismantled parts with purified water.
5.08 Send the wash water for analysis of residual active ingredients of previous product.
5.09 Clean all the dismantled parts with 70% Isopropyl alcohol and allow them to dry in air. Put a label “Cleaned” or “Ready for Use”
