OPERATION OF
DIGITAL COLONY COUNTER

 

1.0 WHAT

This
document details the procedure for the Operation of
colony counter.           

2.0 WHY

It is the
policy of the written procedure will be followed for the Operation of colony counter and its use monitored in order to
ensure that the operation is carried uniformly by any of the analyst so as to
avoid any deviation from the procedure.  

3.0 WHEN

This
procedure is to be applied at the time of Operation of colony
counter

5.0 PROCEDURE

OPERATION

 

      5.1.1 Ensure that instrument is clean and
free from dust.

 

      5.1.2 Ensure that the
magnifying lens is fixed on its appropriate plate.

 

      5.1.3 Ensure that the market is connected
to either right or left side of the Instrument.

 

      5.1.4 Switch on the mains.

 

      5.1.5 Switch on the power
button. The internal light will be flashed ‘ON’ and the Digital screen will
show ‘0000’ figure. Again pressing this button will turn The Power ‘OFF’.

 

     5.1.6 Now press the plate containing colonies to be counted.

 

     5.1.7 Now, Mark each and every
colony one after the other by pressing the tip of The marker.

 

     5.1.8 The number of colonies will automatically get
displayed on the screen can Be set to 0000 by pressing the RESET button.

 

     5.1.9 When the counting is over, the screen can be
set to 0000 by pressing the ‘manual’
Button.

 

     5.1.10 The counting can be done manually by pressing
the MANUAL button.

 

5.1.11   Section Incharge witch off the instrument and put under cover when not
required.

5.2 CLEANING

 

5.2.1 Clean the apparatus externally with clean Tissue
Paper

5.2.2 Clean the unit surface with wiping cloth supplied
with the unit before and after use.

 

5.3 PRECAUTION

 

5.3.1 Keep the instrument
Clean.

 

           5.3.2 Calibrate the instrument at defined time interval.
