SOP on General Requirements for Blister Packing Machine

1.0 Purpose: This SOP describes the general requirements for blister packing machine.

2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to operating staff of the production department.

3.0 Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to ensure that the procedure is followed.

4.0 Materials and Equipment: None

5.0 Procedure:

5.01 Blister packing area should be clean and tidy.

5.02 Blister packing must be handled only by trained staff.

5.03 Blister packing operations should not commence until packing line has been cleared of the residue from the previous batch and certified by the production/Q.C. Chemist.

5.04 The product being packed should not be handled with bare hands. Operators should wear gloves and use nose mask.

5.05 The Temperature of heating rollers should be pre-determined for satisfactory sealing of packing materials used and for formation of blister of PVC/foil.

5.06 Blister packing should be carried out in an air-conditioned area temperature (not more than 270C) and relative humidity (35% to 55%).
