SOP on Cleaning of Coating Pan
1.0 Purpose: This SOP describes the procedure for cleaning of a coating pan.
2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to operating staff of the production department.
3.0 Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to ensure that the procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment:
4.01 Brush / Scrubber
4.02 SS mug
4.03 Teepol solution (10ml 1liter water) or Liquid Soap solution (10g 1 liter water).
4.04 Isopropyl alcohol (70%).
5.0 Procedure:
5.01 Fill the coating pan with 15 liters of boiled tap water.
5.02 Remove any visible material from the surfaces of coating pan with the help of brush or scrubber.
5.03 Drain out the water with the help of a SS mug.
5.04 Clean the surfaces of coating pan with the help of a mop soaked in teepol solution or liquid soap solution.
5.05 Wash the inner surfaces of the coating pan by using 10 liters of tap water for 10 minutes and drain the washings.
5.06 Wash the inner surfaces of the coating pan by using 10 liters of purified water for 10 minutes and drain the washings. Repeat the procedure two times.
5.07 Finally rinse the coating pan with purified water and drain it completely.
5.08 Send the wash water for analysis of residual active ingredients of previous product.
5.09 Mop the surfaces of the coating pan with a cloth soaked in 70% Isopropyl alcohol.
5.10 Let the equipment dry in air, cover it and put a label “Cleaned” or “Ready for Use”.
