SOP on Sealing of Capsules on Semiautomatic Capsule Filling Machine
1.0 Purpose: This SOP describes the procedure for sealing of capsules on semiautomatic capsule filling machine.
2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to operating staff of the production department.
3.0 Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to ensure that the procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment: None
5.0 Procedure:
5.01 The pressure of the compressed air supply should be checked and the air supply valve should be opened.
5.02 The complete ring assembly containing the filled capsules should be positioned on the joiner.
5.03 The Joiner plate should be swung downwards into position and the ring assembly should be pulled snugly against it.
5.04 The ring assembly along with joiner plate should be held firmly and the air control pressed in order to seal the capsules with air pressure.
5.05 The ring assembly should be turned along with the joiner plate and pressed again to repeat the sealing process.
5.06 The ring assembly should be pushed back completely on to the peg ring in order to eject the capsules.
5.07 The capsules should be collected in a cleaned SS container.
