Calibration of Nephelometer
1.0 Purpose: This SOP describes a procedure for the Calibration of Nephelometer.
2.0 Scope: This SOP is applicable to all Nephelometer.
3.0 Responsibility: It is the responsibility of Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that the procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment Used:
4.01 A glass tube/cuvette
4.02 Nephelometer
5.0 Procedure
5.1 Switch on the instrument.
5.2 Using the standard operating conditions start the operations of the instrument.
5.3 Set the instrument at zero.
5.4 Pour the standard turbidity solution in the glass tube/cuvette and measure the turbidity.
5.5 Ensure that the glass tube/ cuvette are cleaned/washed before and after use.
5.6 Make the measurements of turbidity in each range of the instrument or in different ranges of the instrument.
5.7 The turbidity shall not differ from the stated values of the reference standards.
5.8 Correlate the observed values of turbidity with the specified/stated values of the reference standard and make adjustments, if necessary.
